The Highlanders and Hanoverians website has a new home, and as with any move, there are a few odds and end that need attention.

The new website address is:

The new forum address is:
http://www.1745rising.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

And the new Gallery address is:
http://www.1745rising.org/gallery2/main.php

Please adjust your bookmarks accordingly. The Gallery software has been updated, but everything else should work the same as it ever did.

Your new webmaster will be Thomas Grooms. I'll be sticking around as a sort of backup QB for a while while he gets comfortable with the forum and gallery software,  so I will let Thomas introduce himself and get into the swing of things.

We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to Bill Cooper, who made this move about 1,000 times smoother than I could have done it. Thank you, Bill!

One note: I went through the forum post by post and tried to change all the links that referenced the old site/forum/gallery, and all the hotlinked images embedded in posts. There may have been a few I missed, and there were a few auto-generated ones that we're still working on changing, so if you see something, let us know.

One other note regarding user avatars: Because of the way the updated Gallery software works, a few users who had their avatars linked to a Gallery image are temporarily without avatars, because they don't hotlink properly. No worries, we'll get your avatars back as we finish up the site move....so The Vicar, Henrik, Slainte, and Reiver, hang in there and we will get your pictures back in your profiles soon!

I will be spending the rest of today putting the redirects in place and prowling around looking for any stray errors that might have eluded us so far. So Let's hear it for Webmaster Thomas Grooms and Site-Mover Extraordinaire Bill Cooper.

Heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Gretchen for her many years of diligent service making this website and forum a great place for us re-enactors to hang out, to Thomas for his willingess to shoulder this responsibility into the future, and for Bill Cooper for his inestimable assistance in the hosting changeover.
