Tell me, what do you have up for opposing forces at some of these events? I know that when I was doing Civil War many years ago there was a shortage of troops in blue. It looked like the Hanoverian line at Bedford was a bit thin. Would be willing to serve on the other side if needed.

Getting the Recoats out in force has been a problem to date, but Jaimie Parillo, who will be Gov't commander at Crown Point in May, is already doing a bang-up job of lining up troops to slaughter us there!

That's going to b the "don't-miss-it" event of next season....

this isuuse i have been attempting to figure out....why is it they there are so few Gov Force's that turn out???? Well to tell the truth correct me if im wrong here most of the the people who normaly portray Crown Forces in other time periods are Jacobites durring this time period...I concure that in ACW events you are hard prssed to find a "Yankee" but you have
400000 Rebs...Its some what sad state of Affairs...Hell even in REv war down here there is a Huge difference between the Rebs and Crown forces.. So its not just this time perriod it seems to be the rule of thumb..

How to fix the issue at hand?

There is nonething that the Chris..Elliot  and everyone else that has had a hand in these events  can Do to other then make the invatations to different Groups and hope for the best.. But what the Army of King James can Do theres a different issue...Its Simple...We need to be ready to Galvanise put on a red Cockade and Joing the Crown forces...

I tell you what guys you havent  seen the highland charge until you have been on the reciving end of one...I know alot of people really dont want to do this for what ever reason....
two years ago I actively heard a Group flat out refuse...

Some thing that those who were members of the Argyels were not "highlanders" because of their politics...Well I think that is well B.S. Highland blood was spiled on both sides Both sides suffered the aftermath....

Well...I think that most people want a lost fight.
It gives you something to sing, drink and talk about next to the fire.

Good point Collin-

I for one would like to be on the recieving end of a highland charge....
just to see how it looks and feels, wouldn't bother me at all.

Maybe the 5 redcoats should be given mini-guns.

Joking aside, I do understand what you are saying.

Luckily enough..we're slowly getting round this..not only our our redcoats recruiting(must be some lottery winners around..), but some of our Highlanders normally fight on the Govt. side...gives them a chance to go Slash,Ting! with sword armed opponents.

All,

I am new to this list and I have been finding that even on the internet there is a dearth of Gov't supporters.  I would like to see that change myself.

That is why I am here.  Subject of King George II, dyed in the wool loyalist.  Me and some mates that do 74th Foot AWI are going to out at the Culloden event as Argyle Militia.  Loyal Scots it seems are an underrepresented group.  And i will make it known that will will not just be wearing Rev War uniforms, we are actually going to wear 1740's kit and clothing.

In the future I hope to get people interested in doing a hardcore campainger unit of British Foot to do 7 Years War and occasionally '45 stuff.

So there is interest.

Hello Gentleman Volunteer and welcome!  Its good to hear of your interest and efforts to bring forces out in support of King George.  We of the Army of King James look forward to meeting you in May on the field of honour.

For your information, there is another good size group of Argyle's coming out led by Steve Sandford (KRRNY rev war) so you will be in good company.  Let me encourage your efforts and I hope that you find this a rewarding experience and one you wish to repeat.    We have another event coming up in Bedford PA September 4/5 so if you find you enjoy what happens at Crown Point you may want to consider that one.

all the best,
Chris Timm
