To all of the Jacobites out there,

I am very interested in the Jacobite rebellions, and I am thinking about becoming a reenactor, but from what I have seen, there are no units that are close to where I live. Does anyone know of any units that would recruit someone from the Philadelphia region? Thanks!

Sam,

My group has some members from the Philly area.  Click on the link in my signature below for unit details.

Also in the southern PA, MD, VA region is the Appin Stewarts, a fine group of folks.  Their website is:

www.appins.org/

Good luck!

Hi Sam,
I'll toss another lure into the water.  I belong to "Clann of the Wolf".  We portray  Clan Cameron at the events.  Membership ranges up and down the eastern seaboard (primarily).  There's a couple of us in the general Philly area.  Myself, I'm about 5 miles due east of the Tacony Palmyra bridge.  Just food for thought

I can vouch for all three groups Sam.  They are all excellent groups, plus very helpful to people just getting started in the time period.
After our event this weekend in Fort Erie Ontario we have another one coming up labor day weekend in Bedford PA. It might be a good opportunity to get connected.

Thank you for the information gentlemen. I am looking into these regiments. The websites have a great deal of information and are very helpful. They all look like great organizations.

Greetings

I am interested in joining an Ohio based Scottish group.
I currently do an F&I period British colonial trader and Indian agent persona but I would like to occasionally don the plaid especially for events like the Battle of Culloden.

Thomas,
Contact Alex Good MacCracken, a member of this forum.  He portrays the Drummond Duke of Perth, and is presently organizing a new group in Ohio, which - knowing Alex - will have high standards of authenticity and correctness....
