FWIW...This is only peripherally relevant, but I thought it worthy of note that the BBC's "Aristocrats" has finally been released on DVD. It's worth watching just for the interiors and table settings, at least IMO. It's only got about a half-hour of pre-1745 material (then it jumps ahead several years), and it's got nothing at all to do with Scotland, but it does have some really good 18th century costuming/interiors, and excellent production values overall (as well as rather amusing portrayals of George II and III). If NetFlix starts carrying it, I'd recommend getting your hands on it just for the details and backgrounds (especially if you're doing an upper-class portrayal). It goes down a lot better if you've read Stella Tillyard's book, and most people seem to find the story a bit tedious anyhow, but I'm a big fan of Alun Armstrong and Sian Phillips, so there was plenty to keep me interested.

I never buy movies, but I grabbed this on VHS when it came out, and have watched it to death while hemming skirts, making lacing holes, and basting pleats, so I'll probably scoff up a copy of the DVD to replace it.
