Good day.  We had a great weekend at Fort Erie for our spring event: "The Jacobites in Edinburgh". The weather was excellent and the camp location really good with the fort providing a very picturesque backdrop.  Activities focused around the time the Army of King James was in Edinburgh which was a nice change of pace for the spring event. As a result, the daily tacticals were held around the fort and provided an interesting backdrop for the battles. As always, the camp life was excellent and a joyful time. We had a number of new people join us which was nice and a better turnout then I'd anticipated.

Thank you's go out to Tom Hurlbut for being our liason with the fort, for the ladies of Clan MacLachlan for hosting a wonderful open-air tea, the Camerons for their always-popular highland games, Elena for the Maypole and Sebastian for organizing archery for the event. But a BIG THANK YOU to all who came out and represented us so well making this another successful weekend. It was such a joy to serve with you.

Representing the Army of King James was:
clan Cameron
clan MacLachlan
The MacGregors
Bagots Hussars
Elcho's Life Guards
HRH's household staff

For God, for Scotland and for King James

your servant,
Chris Timm

Feedback coming from the fort was positive and they particularly thought our camp and costuming was excellent. They'd like us back in the future. Huzzah for the Army of King James!

Hi Brian,
Not as many as I usually take (wasn't functioning at 100% that weekend). But, as Rod Serling used to say "Presented for your consideration".  ...
